Program Description By choosing the Co-op stream of the Manufacturing Engineering Technology program, your two, paid workterms will impress future employers. If your career ambitions go beyond the status quo, and if you're interested the concept of life-long learning, the Manufacturing Engineering Technology program will help you add to your already impressive and specialized skill-set. In the program, you'll combine hands-on industrial training with your academic studies, preparing you for management and leadership positions in the manufacturing industry. Refining your people skills is a major focus of the program. You'll also learn how to interpret product design drawings, develop and implement a production process, and apply manufacturing and quality control standards. And, in addition to technical skills, you'll learn business skills such as accounting, production cost estimating, statistical analysis, operations and resource management and customer service. When you graduate, career opportunities include operations manager, plant supervisor, tool designer, quality engineer and more. And you'll be eligible for direct transfer into several bachelor's degree programs at Athabasca University.
